Dipole Magnets

The dipole magnets are used to bend the path of the electrons as they travel around the ring. Charged particles travelling in a magnetic field change direction. The stronger the current applied to the electron magnets the more the electron beam is bent. Electrons passing through dipole magnets produce synchrotron light, which is used for infrared and ultraviolet experiments.
